The Six Best Shows Streaming on Hulu Right Now

Let’s face it, there’s a lot of TV shows out there right now.

Streaming channels are seemingly dropping new series every week, and it can be hard to keep up with what’s worth the watch and what you can skip. But if you’re looking for a new show to watch, want to catch up before a new season drops, or you just feel like revisiting a familiar favorite, here’s seven TV shows you should watch on Hulu.

Abbott Elementary

School may be out for the summer, but you won’t mind going to school for Abbott Elementary. The funny and heartwarming show celebrates the everyday heroes of public education. The cast is excellent, the writing is sharp and the show is full of heart. Quinta Brunson’s breakout show does a great job of balancing the humor with the more serious moments.

The Bear

The Bear follows Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef who returns home to Chicago to take over his family’s sandwich shop after his brother’s death. The show is a dark comedy about the high-pressure world of professional kitchens, and it’s also a surprisingly heartwarming story about family, grief and redemption. The second season drops on June 22, so you have just enough time to catch up.

New Girl

Chances are you’ve probably already watched this hilarious and heartwarming comedy about a group of friends living together in a loft. But no matter how many times you’ve seen it, it’s always worth the rewatch. The show does a great job of exploring the good, bad and goofy parts of friendships and relationships.

Only Murders in the Building

Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steven Martin are coming back for a third season of this Emmy-winning series. The heartwarming mystery comedy follows three strangers who bond over their shared love of true crime podcasts and decide to start their own podcast to investigate the mysterious death of a resident in their Upper West Side apartment building. Trust us, you’ll be hooked from the very first episode. The third season premieres in August, so you should definitely spend the summer getting caught up.

Superstore

If you’re tired of rewatching The Office (is that even possible?) then you should definitely check out Superstore. The NBC sitcom follows the everyday lives of the employees of a big-box store. And just like in The Office, it’s not the work that makes it interesting — it’s the eccentric characters. America Ferrera is hilarious as Amy, the store manager who is trying to keep her head above water. Ben Feldman is also great as Jonah, the idealistic new employee who is trying to make a difference in the world.

Under the Banner of Heaven

This FX limited series tells the story of a devout Mormon detective (Andrew Garfield) who is tasked with investigating the brutal murder of a young woman (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and her baby. As he delves deeper into the case, he begins to uncover dark secrets about the Mormon church and its history of violence. The show, based on a Jon Krauker book, has been praised for its suspenseful plot, its complex characters, and its unflinching look at the dark side of religion.
