‘Two and a Half Men’ Creator Apologizes for ‘Two and a Half Men’

While accepting an award for his new TV show Mom, producer Chuck Lorre took the opportunity to tell everyone that he is sorry for unleashing the sitcom Two and a Half Men onto the world for more than a decade. His CBS creation will finally go away this year, at the end of its 12th season. While receiving the award at the Television Academy Honors for his latest show—about an alcoholic mother trying to pull her life together—Lorre said, “To do a show about people trying to redeem their lives and to salvage and repair the damage they’ve done, for me, it’s an opportunity to apologize for Two and a Half Men.” Sure, he was sort of joking, but at least he’s beginning to recognize the magnitude of awfulness he’s infected primetime with. Maybe he was just lonely being the very last person on planet earth who actually still likes Two and a Half Men
