We knew it was coming, but that doesn’t make it hurt any less.
In the FAQ’s on Vine’s website, it’s been edited to say that Vine’s last day will be January 17, leaving just over a week for people to save their vines.
Vine users have until the 17th to download any of their vines that they want to save from the app. Old Vines will be archived, but the site will otherwise be closed and turned into Vine Camera, which won’t be a social network, so the safest option is to download them ahead of time.
For Vine spectators, the same advice applies: Watch your favorite vines until they come down next week. RIP, Vine, we’ll be watching a six second loop of a candle flickering for you tonight.
