Dolly Parton, Heaven’s sweetest angel, was a guest on Tuesday night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and the two had a delightful conversation about Dolly’s new book Songteller and her upcoming Christmas album. She launched into an impromptu rendition of the old bluegrass staple “Bury Me Beneath the Willow Tree” and Colbert was reduced to a puddle of tears. No judgement. It’s not like you’d be able to keep your eyes dry if one of the most beautiful voices in America started serenading your weary, 2020-ladened soul. Just watch the moment yourself and tell us your room isn’t getting a little dusty.
