Watch: LANY Brings the ‘Late Late Show’ to Its Knees With ‘Thru These Tears’

You know we’re huge fans of LANY here at the office. Their dreamy synth pop is always bumping on our speakers, but as of late we’ve had to tone down the jams, because when “Thru These Tears” comes on, there’s nary a dry eye in RELEVANT territory.

Last night, the group brought the emotion and the waterworks to The Late Late Show with James Corden.

“Thru These Tears” is the first single for the band’s second album cycle. They’re calling this one the “moon era” in reference to the name of their forthcoming album, Malibu Nights. LANY is emerging from the “rose era,” which refers to the cover art of their debut self-titled album.

Much of Malibu Nights was made after frontman Paul Klein’s breakup with Dua Lipa, but the singer has insisted it’s more than a breakup album. In any case, this song feels a lot like breaking up. It’s a lock for a nighttime summer playlist.
