Propaganda’s dropped a hypnotic new music video for “Darkie,” a standout song on Crooked—an album full of standout songs. In this song, Prop confronts the “shackles” of what he calls “constructions of beauty” and the subtle ways American culture reinforces who is and isn’t beautiful, powerful, intelligent and even innocent. It’s a mesmerizing video and a reminder that few modern artists are as adept as Propaganda in dealing with cultural nuance. You can watch the whole thing over at Billboard.
