Watch: St. Paul & The Broken Bones Wear Capes, Funk It Up on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

It takes a bold individual to wear a cape. Superman could do it because if you disrespected him, he’d shoot his laser eyes at you. Queens wear them because they’re queens and you can’t really say no to things they want. Now, St. Paul & The Broken Bones frontman Paul Janeway adds himself to that mix, and with a performance like this, can you deny him?

St. Paul is a soul group in the vein of Alabama Shakes or Nathaniel Rateliff. They bring the funk as much as they bring it smooth, and their unique sound is lifting them to gigs like Kimmel, opening for the Rolling Stones on their Zip Code tour and CBS This Morning.

The group is hot on the heels of their anticipated third album, Young Sick Camellia. Needless to say, we’re fans, of the style and the sound.
