Garfield (the cat, not the Spider-Man) famously had a complicated relationship with Mondays. And it seems like one pre-kindergartner feels the same way.
A video of four-year-old Landry catching the bus went viral last week because it’s so painfully relatable. In the video, Landry walks down his driveway toward the bus, but right when he gets to the door, he stops, flops and just decides to lay there. The bus driver came to he rescue to make sure the Kansas boy was okay, but it turns out he just had “a severe case of the Mondays,” according to his mother, Missi.
His mom shared the video, which was recorded on the family’s front door security camera, online. “I think we all feel like him on Mondays,” Missi joked.
“When he’s really tired, he gets a bit grumpy and then gets way overdramatic,” his dad Jason explained. “I saw somebody comment that growing up is learning how to do that in your head instead of in physical form. And that’s exactly right. I think we all feel like this on Monday, and I think that’s why it’s so relatable, to see the bus and be like, ‘I can’t do it today.’”
Landry clarified that’s exactly what he was feeling.
“I just had to put on my mask, so I did like this and got so tired I laid down and dropped.”
We get you, Landry. We get you.
