There was waffle wedding cake. A friendly pit bull. Place-settings adorned with the silhouette of Lil Sebastian (RIP). A cool jazz club. A menu that contained Chicky Chicky Parm-Parm, steak and a big ol’ cookie. This Parks and Rec themed wedding had everything a Pawnee resident would expect at such a magical ceremony (warning, the post from Buzzfeed contains some explicit language). The “wedding” was the work of a photography duo from Michigan who collaborates with local caterers and vendors to stage a wedding for the purpose of showcasing their work. Each year, they choose a new theme for the faux-ceremony, and this time, they made the obvious choice: The union of Leslie and Ben. Almost everything used in the fake wedding was a nod to their favorite show—including the wardrobe choices, distinguished guest (including FBI agent Burt Macklin and the mysterious Janet Snakehole) and show references on all of the invitations. Sure, no one was actually married at the Parks and Rec wedding, but we can only hope that the photo shoot will serve as inspiration for a real couple to make this dream a reality …
