Willie Robertson and his wife Korie may be best known as two of the stars of the goofy, hit reality show Duck Dynasty, but they’re also gaining a reputation for another high-profile role: adoption advocates. The couple recently spoke at the Adoption Institute’s Angels in Adoption Gala in Washington D.C., and explained how adoption changed their life. (The couple have six children—including an adopted son, Will, and a grown foster daughter. They are also in the process of adopting another child from Korea.)
At the event, Willie told In Touch, “There are plenty of kids who need homes. That’s why we’re all here. We have adopted children and we have natural children … and there’s no difference between them.” Korie told the audience, “From the moment we found out about him, he was ours. I swear, I had labor pains the night before I went and picked him up at the foster home he was living at. He’s our child, just like our biological children.” The pair said that their wildly popular reality show has given them a bigger stage to showcase and discuss the important issue. “We are proud to … use the platform we have with Duck Dynasty to talk other people into bringing children into their homes” …
