Authorities in Lebanon have arrested 11 people—seven of whom are from Syria—in connection with two large suicide bombings that killed at least 44 people last week. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks. The bombings were in an area known to be a stronghold for Hezbollah supporters and Shiite Muslims, whom ISIS considers enemies and heretics. Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader told followers that the blame should be placed only on ISIS radicals, not ordinary Syrians in the country.
