A 14-Year-Old Student Has Been Charged in the Death of His Math Teacher

In the second violent crime against teachers in the U.S. this week, there’s horrible news out of Danvers, Mass. today, where the body of 24-year-old math teacher Colleen Ritzer has been found in the woods behind her school. Police are charging 14-year-old Philip Chism with murder, after they picked him up around midnight the day Ritzer’s body was found. Mary Duffy, a long time neighbor of Ritzer’s, told reporters that “She was gentle, with a big smile,” said Mary Duffy, who has lived next door to Colleen Ritzer’s family in Andover for more than two decades. “It makes no sense” …
