According to a report from Fox News, 18 people in Iran have been sentenced to prison for charges “including evangelism, propaganda against the regime, and creating house churches to practice their faith.” The individuals are reportedly converts to Christianity. The Christians were first arrested in 2013 under an ambiguous law that forbids “any type of propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Though the country’s judicial system is notoriously secretive, the combined sentences for the group of Christians is reportedly 24 years.
