Christians around the world today are facing persecution on an almost unimaginable scale. According to a recent report from Christian Freedom International, more Christians have been killed for their faith in the 21st and 20th century than in the previous 19 combined.
As their findings note, “every five minutes, a Christian is martyred for their faith.” And with more than 200 million Christians currently facing persecution because of their beliefs, Christians remain the most persecuted religion in the world.
Globally, the situation seems to be getting worse: Other religious minorities and moderate Muslims face violence from ISIS across the Middle East, and tens of thousands of Christians are currently being held in North Korean prison camps.
