A young man in Oxford, Kansas was out to dinner with his friends recently when he looked across the restaurant and noticed a woman sitting by herself. Something didn’t sit right with him, so he approached her to talk to her. It turned into an encounter he won’t soon forget.
Jamario Howard wrote on Facebook: “We talked for a minute and after a while she told me she lost her husband and that tomorrow would have been their 60th anniversary. I instantly gave my condolences and asked her to come eat with us.” The woman agreed, and Howard, his two friends and the woman sat together and ate and talked.
Howard wrote the conversation “changed my outlook on life and how I look at other people. Everyone has a story, so don’t judge!”
If you ask us, though, he saved some of his wisest words for last: “Go see your mom and your grandparents. They miss you!”
They do. Give your family members a call if you can. They’re probably thinking about you.
