Ancient Viking Code Finally Cracked and It’s Just Adorable

About 900 years ago, ancient Vikings, their courage matched only by their savagery, came up with a code that popped up on some 80 inscriptions. It’s a collection of ancient runes that have baffled runologists (a real job that sounds awesome) for decades but, now, one has cracked the code. Jonas Norby at the University of Oslo has discovered that the code says “Kiss Me,” making it possibly the sweetest and most charming of all ancient Viking codes. “It’s like solving a puzzle,” said Nordby to the Norwegian website forskning.no. “Gradually I began to see a pattern in what was apparently meaningless combinations of runes.” Beneath all the pillaging and village burning, they were just a bunch of guys looking for love …
