Anti-Abortion Group Live Action Releases New Undercover Videos

The anti-abortion group Live Action has released a new video of secretly taped conversations at an abortion clinic in Brooklyn in which employees describe procedures that have drawn comparisons to those at the clinic of Kermit Gosnell. Dr. Gosnell is currently being tried for the murder of live babies as well as a patient who died under his care. The videos are the latest in an undercover campaign by the group exposing improper practices at abortion clinics. In one video, a woman who is posing as a pregnant patient asks a staff member what happens if the baby “comes out” at home before she arrives at the clinic. She is told, “If it comes out, it comes out. Flush it.” The woman then asks what would happen if the baby survives the procedure and is “twitching” or “breathing”; she is told that fetuses are put into a chemical solution at the lab, and “the solution will make it stop.” However, later in the video, an abortion counselor tells the woman that though it is unlikely that a baby would survive the procedure, “Once that pregnancy comes out alive, [the doctor] will do everything he can to save it.”

In another video taken at a facility near Washington D.C., a doctor says that if a baby was born alive following the abortion, “we would not help it.” He tells the woman, who says she is 24-weeks pregnant, “I mean, technically, you know, legally, we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive, but … it probably wouldn’t. It’s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point” …
