Ben Bernanke Quotes Bible and Tells Princeton Grads: You Got Lucky; Now Make the World a Better Place

During his graduation address at Princeton University this weekend, Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke took a frank departure from the typical inspirational commencement speech script. He told the recent Ivy League graduates that essentially, because of circumstances like family connections, income, educational opportunities, privilege and “genetic endowment,” they were extremely lucky. He said it is now their responsibility to “share their luck with others” and “contribute to the betterment of the world.” Bernanke went on to quote Luke 12:48:

“From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.” Kind of grading on the curve, you might say.
