Beth Moore: God Takes Every Wrong Performed Against Children Personally

Author and preacher Beth Moore has taken to Twitter amidst a widespread outrage regarding a new immigration policy that mandates that children be removed from their parents if they are caught crossing the border illegally.

Thousands of children have been taken from their parents and placed into makeshift detention centers following the directive from Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Moore tweeted, “Jesus loves the little children. Every wrong performed against them He takes personally,” adding Matthew 18:10, “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.”

Moore followed it with a tweet that read: “It’s the responsibility of the people of Jesus to take the stand of Jesus. Always. Despite the cost. We plant our feet where He’d plant His. The Gospels reveal what He was like. Our job in this world is to be like Him in this world. Social Justice Warriors? No. Actual CHRISTIANS.”

A growing number of high-profile Christians are speaking out against the policy, including Franklin Graham, who has up to now been a vocal Trump supporter.

Today, the Christian humanitarian organization World Vision released a statement that said:

While the U.S. needs to address real concerns about our immigration system, children and families should not suffer in the process. The single most important relationship for all children, especially those at risk of violence or in high stress situations, is that of a parent. Separating children from their parents can have a devastating long-term effect on children’s mental, physical, and emotional development … We call for a compassionate response for all the children and families involved.
