Did the face of Jesus just appear inside a poplar tree in England?
Callum Johnson, an apprentice tree surgeon, thinks so. When a 13-foot poplar tree in Wantage, Oxfordshire, England, was chopped down to allow more sunlight into a nearby home, Callum noticed what he says are the eyes and beard of Jesus staring back at him.
“As my colleague was cutting the branch it fell on the floor and I instantly noticed the face of Jesus. We all looked at it and I thought, ‘Oh my God’. It was amazing,” Johnson said. “I’m not religious myself but after seeing that I may be open to considering it.”
Johnson shared that many of his colleagues were also amazed by what they saw.
“It could become a place of pilgrimage,” Johnson joked.
