Phyllis Pena was just getting back to her Lake Jackson, Texas home early on January 31 when she spied a suspected peeping tom peeking through the windows of her 15-year-old daughter’s room. He spotted Pena and fled just as she was calling the police, who soon showed up to investigate and they spotted the suspect nearby. The alleged peeper made a break for it, dodging the cops. But he could not dodge Pena herself, who squared her shoulders and took the guy out like a linebacker knocking the running back out of the endzone. The whole thing was captured on police dash cam.

Boom. You feel it in your bones, don’t you? Just look at that. The light juke. Wrapping the guy up like a Christmas present. And then the takedown, which you can almost hear even without audio. The tackle even got a hat tip from The Texas Mom of herself, Beth Moore. The implication certainly seems to be that Moore can relate to this tackle on a personal level. One is forced to assume that she has tackled bad people in the past and may well do so again in the future. We’ll be keeping an eye on the situation.

In the news report, Pena explained that her kids are “everything” (fortunately, Pena’s daughter was not in her room at the time of the incident or our suspect may not have gotten up). “The first instinct was just to make sure he didn’t go any further,” she told reporters. Mission accomplished.
