Investigators say that a former University of Central Florida student who committed suicide in a dorm yesterday was likely planning an attack on campus before police intervened.
James Seevakumaran was to be evicted from his dorm room at UCF, where he was no longer a student, when he pointed a gun at a resident advisor and then pulled a fire alarm. Investigators say that the 30-year-old had amassed massive amounts of ammunition, two firearms and four explosive devices; they also found writings that indicated he had taken time to plan out an attack on students. UCF Police Chief Richard Beary said, “We think the fast response made him change his mind … and he took his own life” …
