America has spoken. The “Nation’s Restaurant News” has released the results of a new poll that reveals what the country’s favorite “Casual Dining” eating establishment (a pretty broad category that encompasses most big, non-fast food chains) is, based on categories including “craveability,” and The Cheesecake Factory took the No. 1 spot.
Ironically (or, maybe not), The Cheesecake Factory is also the only restaurant to have two entries on “The Center for Science in the Public Interest” survey of the nine worst meals in America when it comes to basic human health. To be fair though, considering the chain has cheesecake in the name, we don’t think anyone is under the impression it’s the world’s healthiest option. The place literally deep fries macaroni.
And, unlike the other chains in the top five (The Melting Pot, Bonefish Grill, Red Lobster and Romano’s Macaroni Grill), the menu is so gigantic (it even has it’s own ads!) that you can pretty much order any kind of food you want—and still eat cheesecake. Really, the deck was stacked against every other place in America.
