The on-going conflict in South Sudan may finally be coming to an end. On Monday, the nation’s president signed a cease-fire agreement with rebel leader Riek Machar that would allow both sides to share governing power. Similar agreements have been signed in the past and failed to stop the violence, which has claimed more than 10,000 lives and displaced 1.5 million in the last year, but as part of the new talks Machar would actually become Vice President.
