Airlines tend to get a bad rap these days, especially for poor customer service. But every once in a while you get a story like this. After several cancellations and delays due to weather, it was looking like Jessie Frank wasn’t going to be able to board a flight to pick up her 12-year-old daughter from a special summer camp for children with diabetes. Moments after finding out that all of the seats were taken, a man assisted her with her baggage and helped her aboard.
In her “Open Letter to Delta CEO Richard Anderson” which has now gone viral, she explained what happened next: “As the plane descended into Atlanta, the flight attendant announced that there was a special guest on board. He was riding in a jump seat, because he had given up his place to allow one more person on that flight. That special guest was you: Richard Anderson, CEO of Delta.” Frank said she hadn’t told anyone from Delta where she was going, and had never met Anderson before …
