
A California woman who worked in the financial aid office at San Diego Christian College is suing the school after she was fired for getting pregnant before she was married. The school requires all employees to sign a “community covenant” morality contract that prohibits, among other things, pre-marital sex.
The 29-year-old woman also claims that adding insult to her humiliation, the school offered a job to her then-fiancé, the expectant father. He turned down the job, which probably makes home life a little more bearable for the two. who are now married. A spokesperson for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said that her case is a tricky one.
