Clothing Retailers Contribute $40 Million to Fund for Victims of Bangladesh Factory Collapse

Several large global clothing retailers have contributed $40 million to a fund that will support the victims and families of those killed in a garment factory collapse in Bangladesh in April. The tragedy, that killed more than 1,100 workers, highlighted the problem of dangerous working conditions facing many international garment workers. According to the International Labor Organization, which helped to orchestrate the fund, the money will be used to “compensate the victims and their beneficiaries” …
