Pam Jones and her family were trapped by floodwaters in Dickinson, Texas, waiting in vain for the Coast Guard to show up. A boat of volunteer rescuers and a CNN crew heard their cries for help first, and what followed was an emotional rescue in which everyone pitched in to help Jones’ elderly parents and their dogs into the boat. CNN correspondent Ed Lavandera, producer Jason Morris and cameraman Joel De La Rosa all pitched in with volunteer rescuer Austin Seth.
Together, they were able to help Elmore Jones and his wife, JoAnne into the boat and got them away to safety.
A truly amazing moment on CNN ➝ https://t.co/roWhNDwJ85
