Donald Trump Jr. Gave Frequent Trump Critics the Babylon Bee a Twitter Shoutout

As we reported last week, the conservative Christian satire site The Babylon Bee has recently been feuding with the news network CNN. It all stemmed from CNN criticizing The Bee because a lot of people were not getting their political satire, and appeared to be sharing their stories, believing them to be real.

In response, The Bee took some shots at CNN with headlines like, “CNN Attacks Babylon Bee: ‘The Internet Is Only Big Enough For One Fake News Site’” and “Airport Revenues Soar After Allowing Travelers To Pay To Turn Off CNN”. That last one caught the eye of Donald Trump Jr., who retweeted it, adding “It’s so nice to see @TheBabylonBee also do real news stories and not just satire… unlike CNN.”

Ironically, though the Bee leans pretty conservative in their political coverage, they also take frequent shots at Trump and his administration.

In fact, just two hours after Trump Jr.’s tweet, the Bee tweeted a story titled “Republican Party Publishes New, Improved Edition Of Jesus’s Beatitudes”. It included a quote from a “GOP spokesperson” which read, “You no longer have to read Matthew 5 and be really uncomfortable with some of Jesus’s rhetoric” and included political jabs like, “Blessed are the corporations, for they shall receive corporate welfare at the expense of the taxpayers,” “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for political power, for theirs is the White House” and “Blessed are those who are triggered over the slightest criticism of President Trump, for they shall be comforted by Fox News.”

They’ve also recently run stories with headlines like, “Trump Makes New Year’s Resolution To Continue Being As Great As He Always Is”, “Trump Claims He Personally Pushed Al-Baghdadi Off Nakatomi Plaza” and “Trump Fires Back After Bible Accuses Him Of Not Being Christian.”

That piece included a “quote” from Trump himself, which said, “I’ve said many times that I greatly appreciate the Bible, it has served us well, but folks, we can do better,” and that the Bible is “millions of years old and weak, so weak.”

So, for those keeping track at home, both The Babylon Bee and Donald Trump Jr. don’t like CNN, making Donald Trump Jr., retweet the Babylon Bee, a site that frequently criticizes the character of his father, much like, yes, CNN.
