
Well, it happens to the best of us—even those who have dedicated their lives to the international organization upholding global human rights, also known as the United Nations. In approaching Thursday’s big decision that resulted in the U.N.’s move to upgrade the Palestinian Authority’s status from “non-member observer entity” to “non-member observer state,” the U.N. Twitter account manager made a rather unfortunate typo. The tweet reads: “On Day of Solidarity with Palestinians, Ban Ki-moon stresses urgency of reaching 1-state solution.” However, that same day the U.N. Secretary-General voted and affirmed the position he has been vocal about all along: his unequivocal support of a two-state solution. Whoops …
