As promised, the Ferguson Police Department have released the identity of Michael Brown’s shooter. He is Officer Darren Wilson, a six-year veteran of the force who, officials stress, has no prior history of disciplinary action. According to Ferguson police, Brown and his friend, Dorian Johnson, were suspected of taking a box of cigars from a convenience store and physically assaulting a clerk. The police described it as a “strong-arm robbery,” and said the clerk gave a description of the subjects. Shortly thereafter, Brown was dead.
