Well, in case you were wondering about the status of Washington D.C., not much has changed in the week since the government ground to a halt. Both Republicans and Democrats have offered budget plans with piecemeal re-institution of certain government programs, but neither has made enough concessions to widely cross partisan lines. On Saturday, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced that a number of Republicans were in support of a “clean” resolution (one that has no bearing on Obamacare) and that 195 Democrats had signed it as well. And, of course, with the debt ceiling deadline looming on October 17, some sort of agreement is becoming vital. And there’s no sign of it happening …
