
If you’re the sort of person who collects numerous copies of IKEA’s catalog from various different countries in the world, than you may have noticed that Saudi Arabia’s IKEA catalog had one significant difference from the catalogs of the rest of the world: Someone had gone through the entire thing and Photoshopped out all the women. When contacted about the mysterious missing women, IKEA responded with a touching, heartfelt apology:
We should have reacted and realized that excluding women from the Saudi Arabian version of the catalogue is in conflict with the IKEA Group values.
Sounds like everyone’s learned a valuable lesson …
