Kidnapped Nuns in Syria Freed after Three Months in Captivity

A group of 12 nuns are finally free following “a government military operation” in Syria. Though details of exactly who had been holding the nuns isn’t clear, they were abducted after Islamic opposition fighters took over part of the primarily Christian town of Maaloula in December. Christians in the country have frequently been targeted by Islamic groups in the nation’s on-going civil war.
