Kim Jong Un Has His Own Uncle Executed, North Korea’s No. 2 Official

Young North Korean Kim Jong Un dictator has had his own uncle—previously believed to be the second most powerful person in the reclusive country—executed for a variety of crimes. According to the report in the country’s state-controlled media, the powerful Kim family official was found guilty of “attempting to overthrow the state by all sorts of intrigues and despicable methods with a wild ambition to grab the supreme power of our party and state.” Lest you think the report was anything resembling objective, it also called Jang Song Thaek “despicable human scum” and said “people throughout the country broke in to angry shouts” when they heard about his crimes. Fair and balanced. North Korea-watchers say that the move by ruler Kim Jong Un is a worrisome sign that the tyrant may be acting increasingly erratically in an attempt to secure more power and influence within his internal circle …
