At Least 300 Killed in New Boko Haram Attack

The radical Islamic terrorist organization Boko Haram has waged another attack in Nigeria, this time killing at least 300 in the town of Gamboru Ngala according to CNN. The small village was being used as a base for troops and officials searching for the schoolgirls kidnapped by the organization. According to reports, gunmen and terrorists armed with explosives and rocket-propelled grenades—believed to be from Boko Haram—stormed a crowded marketplace, opening fire on civilians before raiding the village and setting fire to homes. The assault on the village, market and police station lasted 12 hours.

The group has been at the center of international outrage after they kidnapped nearly 300 girls in April and have threatened to sell them as child brides. The U.S, Britain and China have all vowed to provide Nigeria with resources and investigative personnel in an effort to find the girls and bring them to safety.
