Malala Helps Syrians Cross Border, Raising Awareness for Refugees

This weekend, Malala Yousafzai, her father and members of her non-profit organization assisted Syrian refugees crossing the border into Jordan, fleeing the violence in their own country. Many of them had traveled through the desert on foot, carrying everything they own with them. The young Nobel Peace Prize nominee rose to prominence after surviving an assassination attempt by the Taliban and has become an advocate for women’s education rights around the world. Her organization, the Malala Fund, has committed to raising money to educate 300,000 Syrian refugee children in Lebanon and is partnering with NGOs in Jordan to ensure that all Syrian children in the country also receive classroom learning …
