Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher Hold a Fundraiser for Ukraine, Hope to Raise $30 Million

As many are rising up to support Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia, actors Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are holding a fundraiser to support Ukraine by raising $30 million.

In an Instagram post, the That 70s Show actors spoke about their GoFundMe fundraiser and its intentions.

Kunis, who was born in Ukraine, also shared about her life before until her family immigrated to the United States in 1991. “I came to America in 1991 and I have always considered myself an American,” Kunis said. “A proud American. I love everything that this country has done for myself and my family. But today, I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian.”

In their caption, the couple wrote, “While we are witnessing the bravery of Ukrainians, we are also bearing witness to the unimaginable burden of those who have chosen safety. Through GoFundMe, this fundraiser will provide an immediate impact on refugee and humanitarian aid efforts.”

They clarified that these donations will go toward Flexport.org and Airbnb, two organizations that are both currently partnering  to help people in Ukraine. Flexport is sending relief supplies to refugees, while Airbnb is providing places for refugees to stay until they’re safe.

“Standing with Ukraine means supporting Ukrainians,” Kunis and Kutcher wrote.

The couple is not only raising money through the fundraiser, though. They have also committed to donating $3 million of their own money for the cause. Their overall goal is $30 million through GoFundMe. As of this writing, they are at $18 million.
