Mississippi Bans Abortion After 20 Weeks

Mississippi’s legislature passed a new abortion bill that gives them some of the nation’s most conservative restrictions on terminating pregnancies. Specifically, abortion in the state is banned after 20 weeks, without the exceptions for rape or incest that a few lawmakers had proposed. The governor has promised to sign the bill into law immediately. The bill was not without some controversy, with Sen. Debbie Dawkins (D) saying, “It occurs to me the past few years that a lot of men do not understand how the female body works.” But Sen.
