More than 1,200 Missing in Colorado after Days of Flooding

According to authorities in Colorado, there are currently 1,253 people still unaccounted for after days of heavy rains and flooding overwhelmed large portions of the state. The torrential rains began on Wednesday, and after four inches fell last night, the Boulder County Emergency Management spokesman Andrew Barth says, “The situation has deteriorated.” Currently, there have been six confirmed fatalities, though hundreds remain missing, and authorities fear the number of death could still raise. Emergency management officials say that so far more than 1,500 homes have been completely destroyed and nearly 12,000 people have been evacuated.
