Concerns Grow as More Suspicious Packages Sent to Joe Biden and Robert de Niro

Suspicious packages were intercepted on their way to former Vice President Joe Biden and actor Robert de Niro on Thursday, making them the eighth and ninth public figures targeted by potentially dangerous devices in the last week.

Former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former CIA director John Brennan, major Democrat donor George Soros, and two packages intended for Rep Maxine Waters have all been the target of suspicious packages, according to the FBI’s counterterrorism unit.

Thursday morning, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to blame the attacks on his favorite target, the media. “A very big part of the Anger we see today in our society is caused by the purposely false and inaccurate reporting of the Mainstream Media that I refer to as Fake News,” he wrote. “It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!”

Brennan responded over Twitter, saying that Trump himself shared part of the blame for stoking divisiveness and anger, saying that “the American people deserve better.”
