A grand jury has decided not to indict any of the officers involved in the fatal shooting of John Crawford III. Crawford was in a Dayton, Ohio Walmart, carrying an air soft rifle he’d found unboxed on the store’s shelves when he was shot by multiple officers. Officers say Crawford ignored commands to drop the “weapon,” and newly released surveillance footage shows him carrying it by his side while talking on his cellphone. 911 calls reported Crawford pointing the gun at people, but none of that appears in the surveillance footage. Multiple officers then rush him before shooting him in one of the aisles.
