Obama Has Now Reduced More Prison Sentences Than the Previous 11 Presidents Combined

Earlier today, president Barack Obama issued 78 pardons and 153 commutations of sentence. That, according to The Daily Beast, makes the POTUS’s total 148 pardons and 1,176 commutations. This means that Obama leads his predecessors significantly—as in, more sentence reductions than the previous 11 presidents combined kind of significant.

But when it comes to pardons, the president has issued fewer than both George W. Bush’s and Bill Clinton’s. Just look at this CBS reporter’s breakdown:
