Pastor Ché Ahn Is Running for Governor of California

Ché Ahn, a pastor best known for his leadership role in the young adult prayer movement TheCall alongside Lou Engle, has announced he is running for governor of California in the 2026 election as a Republican.

According to his website, Ahn says he received a prophetic call from God to enter the governor’s race—a calling confirmed, he said, by an invitation from the White House to the National Day of Prayer.

Ahn currently leads Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, California, and oversees Harvest International Ministry, a global network of congregations. He has been a well-known figure in charismatic Christian circles for decades, drawing thousands to prayer rallies across the country.

He has also been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, aligning himself with efforts like the “Stop the Steal” movement following the 2020 election. In October 2024 he went viral after referring to Vice President Kamala Harris as a “Jezebel” during a sermon.
