According to a Washington Post report, the White House is ramping up the search for warlord Joseph Kony. The United States is sending about 150 additional Special Forces to Uganda—along with military aircraft—to “provide information, advice and assistance” to African Union forces who have been hunting Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army for years. The horrific practices of Kony’s forces—which include abductions, the use of child soldiers and sexual violence—gained international attention in 2012 after the organization Invisible Children released their wildly popular “Kony 2012” viral video, outlining Kony’s crimes and advocating for his capture.
