Tom Magliozzi—one half of NPR’s beloved “Car Talk” duo—has passed away of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Tom and his brother, Ray, were the famous “Click and Clack” of NPR’s long running radio show that addressed listeners’ car troubles with wit and wisdom. The two had a dynamic few duos in radio history have been able to match, affectionate, boisterous and helpful. Their show started out small in Massachusetts, but eventually garnered enough fans to go national on NPR in 1987.
