
Last Tuesday, Malala Yousafzai—the 14-year-old Pakistani girl whose blog has been a heartfelt, detailed, fearless account of her life under the Taliban regime—was shot in the head by the Taliban for “promoting secularism” (particularly, advocating for her own right to education.) She’s remained in critical condition ever since, with doctors giving her a 70% chance of survival.
