Schoolteacher Arrested for Hoarding Hundreds of Dead Snakes

Look, being a teacher is one of the hardest jobs there is. Coping with the enormous stresses of their workload is bound to take on some unusual forms, and far be it from us to criticize what those forms may be. However, in this case, the State of California did take issue with the hobbies of one William Buchman, a 53-year-old elementary school teacher in Newport Beach. Such an awful stench had been wafting from Buchman’s house that neighbors phoned the police, fearing dead bodies were to blame. They were right, but the bodies were of a particularly serpentine nature—police found over 400 pythons in the house, only two of which were alive. Buchman is facing animal cruelty charges …
