Spotify has finally answered the question literally nobody has ever asked: what if your playlist could follow you beyond the grave?
The streaming giant teamed up with Liquid Death to create the Eternal Playlist Urn, a physical urn with a “discreet” Bluetooth speaker built into the lid. The companies say it is “the world’s first wireless speaker designed to bring your music somewhere it’s never been before.” Translation: your remains can now come bundled with your most-played songs from 2017.
Spotify also launched an Eternal Playlist Generator for users, designed to build a soundtrack “for a lifetime…and beyond,” using your listening history and a short questionnaire. The prompts include “What’s your eternal vibe?” and “What’s your go-to ghost noise?”
So it looks like the future of your legacy depends on an app asking you to describe your mood about the afterlife.
The Eternal Playlist Urn is available in the U.S. for a limited time.
