A new “store” has opened in Cape Town, South Africa, with the vision of restoring dignity to the needy, who receive free clothing. The people behind The Street Store set up an open-air retail experience that allows members of the city’s homeless community to browse and take donated clothing items for free. There are even on-site assistants that will aid the “customers” and wrap up the items after they are selected. One of the project’s organizers, Kayli Levitan, explained to 10and5.com, “It makes it easy to make donations as it is hosted in a public area, but it also dignifies the receiving process.
